  • Three-day Millinery Intensive
    Design, make and trim your own hat for the races, wedding or outstanding casual wear! In this three-day course you will make a hat of your own design from sinamay, using traditional and contemporary millinery techniques with milliner Georgina Conheady. This course is suitable for beginner or intermediate students.

    Wednesday to Friday, July 1st to 3rd, 10am to 4pm
    Cost: $350 plus materials (to be purchased by the student at a millinery supplier before the course; approximately $60). Suppliers and material requirements will be provided on enrolment

  • Fascinator and Trimming Course
    In this two-day workshop you will make your own headpiece or fascinator. Milliner Georgina Conheady will show you the tips and tricks for making your own beautiful creations. A combination of instructions on trimming techniques, as well as some easy silk flowers will keep you busy on this fun and creative weekend.

  • Make a Small Hat
    Small hats are in! Make a fedora, pillbox, toy hat, beret or something of your own design. If you are a beginner, you will learn some of the basics of traditional millinery; the more experienced student can try out more advanced techniques. It's a great weekend of learning and creative fun, producing a hat for this year's fashions on the field!

  • Sculpted headpieceSculpted Headpieces and Silk Flower Making
    Some call it a "Hatinator", others an overgrown "Fascinator". We call it a headpiece! Over this 2-day weekend course, learn how to sculpt with contemporary straw using traditional and new millinery techniques to make your own outstanding headpiece! Some of these techniques can also be applied to hat trimming. On Sunday morning you will make a beautiful silk rose using traditional French flower making tools. You can use your silk rose on your headpiece or as a trim for another hat. Both projects will give you skills to take home to apply to more creations.

  • Beginners and Intermediate Millinery
    Make your own beautiful hat using traditional millinery techniques taught by one of Australia's leading milliners. These small classes are open to beginner and intermediate students, catering to different levels of experience. Students new to millinery will make a hat from start to finish, molding the millinery materials over the traditional wooden hat blocks using a variety of techniques.

  • Tinted Silk Flowers
    Learn how to make even more beautiful silk flowers! In this workshop Georgina Conheady will show you how to work with silks and different tinting techniques to make silk flowers with tinted petals. This creates a beautiful flower. If you have done pervious flower making courses with Georgina, she will be working with new flower designs.

  • Race Wear Millinery
    Make a fun hat for the races with milliner Georgina Conheady. You will be using parisisal straw, employing a mixture of traditional and non traditional millinery techniques to make a hat of your own individual design for the races.

  • Summer Schools in Millinery
    In this five-day millinery intensive, you will make your own special hat with Louise Macdonald. The rest of the week will draw the expertise of other renowned Australian milliners and designers who will explore trimming techniques. There will be two courses on offer on the following dates:
